

Women as Change-Makers
#BeBoldForChange: On Monday, ARDC held its first women's leadership class. While ARDC has held leadership courses in the past for asylum seekers, this is the first course to specifically target women. The course will teach them the skills needed to better advocate for themselves, their families and their community. Graduation for Hairdressing Course
Last night, our Hairdressing/ Business students celebrated the end of the 3-month course. We congratulate them on their hard work! Thanks also to our partners at the Eritrean Community Women's Center and MIcrofy for helping make this course a success. Due to the course's popularity, a future advanced course is currently being planned.


Medal of Devotion
On January 23, the Board awarded two former ARDC team members with a Certificate of Service and Medal of Devotion in acknowledgement of the substantial achievements they made during their employment at ARDC. Mutasim Ali served twice as ARDC's Director, from 2013-2014 before he was sent to the Holot Detention Center and again from 2015-2016 after being released.
