ARDC’s Programs

            We hate being dependent on other people. We came here because of genocide, or political instability, or to escape a totalitarian regime. We didn’t come here in search of a better life, but to preserve life itself.

            The work of the ARDC is simply inspiring. We have seen the difference in the lives of the people they have touched and we are proud to support their humanitarian relief work. Their truly dedicated team of volunteers are determined to improve the situation for the refugee community in Israel and bit by bit they are succeeding.

            The Good People Fund supports the outstanding humanitarian work begun by Yohannes Bayu and his dedicated staff and volunteers.

            The ARDC has played a crucial role in providing emergency humanitarian assistance to refugees, including shelters, food, clothing and other essentials. They are a focal point for refugees ...

            One of the lessons of the Holocaust is that it is incumbent on all of us to help those fleeing genocide, torture and mass rape, wherever it is happening in the world. We support ARDC because they are at the forefront of this effort in Israel, helping thousands with nowhere else to turn.

            I am writing these few lines to express my gratitude towards the assistance and help that I received from this organization. ... My Hebrew has progress significantly. ... I started communicating with my Israeli neighbors directly, instead of having my friends do it for me. I can read the traffic boards and also the store boards.

            My time teaching English to adult refugees has been both challenging and exteremely rewarding. When my class started, only one of my students could write their name in English and none could recognize their names. Now, four weeks later, they are reading and writing with confidence!

            I have no doubt that a great deal of the progress in the situation of refugees and asylum seekers in Israel has been achieved by the passion and hard work of those working for the ARDC.

            We think ARDC is doing critically important work, and we were happy to have partnered with them.
